🚨 Stop Blaming AI

There has been a lot of debate surrounding AI’s impact on job losses, with many suggesting that it is the primary cause of layoffs in the tech industry. However, a recent report suggests that this belief may be misguided. While there is a growing readiness for AI adoption among industry leaders, there is limited concrete evidence of widespread job automation by AI.

In fact, industry reports show that companies often start integrating AI technologies before any significant layoffs occur. For instance, Google used machine learning for ad sales before any job cuts.

The report also highlights that while companies are investing heavily in AI development, this has often led to cutbacks in other areas without directly replacing human workers with AI.

Layoffs are linked more to factors like outsourcing and cost-cutting than to AI adoption.

🤖 ChatGPT’s Going Crazy

ChatGPT has been behaving oddly, responding with nonsensical and gibberish language. The unusual behavior caught the users’ attention, who reported the AI going into what was described as 'full hallucination mode'.

OpenAI acknowledged the problem and launched an investigation. In response to the malfunction, Gary Marcus, a professor at New York University, started a poll to determine the potential causes of the issue. The options included possibilities such as hacking, hardware issues, and corrupted weights. The latter, an integral part of AI predictive models, was particularly highlighted.
