⛪ Robot Preachers

A recent study published in the Journal of Experimental Psychology General examined the impact of robot preachers in real-life settings. The study, conducted in Buddhist and Taoist temples and online, found that followers perceive robot preachers as less credible than their human counterparts. It even noted that participants donated less.

This perception is largely due to the belief that robots lack consciousness, which diminishes their credibility.

The use of robots in religious roles has been growing, with robots like Mindar, resembling a Buddhist deity, delivering services in a Japanese temple, and others installed in Christian churches to perform religious duties.

💹 AI’s 1995 Moment

The current AI boom is being compared to the commercialization of the internet in the mid-90s, with substantial spending predicted for the next decade. Analyst Dan Ives anticipates a $1 trillion increase in AI spending in the coming years.

A major player in this AI revolution is Nvidia, whose GPUs are in high demand by top tech companies such as Salesforce, Adobe, and Oracle. The company's fourth-quarter earnings exceeded expectations, amassing $22.1 billion in revenue.

Contrary to the speculation of a stock market bubble, Ives argues that the situation is different from the dot-com era, asserting that the surge in AI spending is unlikely to cause a market crash. This ongoing AI boom, reflected in Nvidia's impressive earnings, is viewed as just the start of a transformative trend.
