🤖 Emotional Support AI
We Might Be Swapping Our Furry Friends for Emotional Support AI
So, it turns out that your beloved pet hamster, Mr. Whiskers, could soon be replaced by an AI chatbot when it comes to emotional support. Emotional Support Animals (ESA) have been a thing for a while now, providing comfort to folks with mental health issues.
Unlike service animals, which need special training to help with specific tasks, ESAs just need to be there and be adorable. But now, Emotional Support AI (ESAI) is stepping into the spotlight, offering the same therapeutic benefits through your smartphone or other devices. Imagine getting mental health advice from an app at 3 AM—wild, right?
Of course, there's been some drama around ESAs. People often mix them up with pets or even service animals, leading to all sorts of confusion. Some folks have even tried to pass off their unruly pets as ESAs just to take them everywhere, causing quite a stir in public spaces like airplanes. Now, with AI entering the scene, we might see a shift from these furry companions to digital ones.
The World Health Organization has even chimed in, saying AI could play a big role in mental health. But hey, it's not all rainbows and unicorns—there are privacy concerns and a debate on whether AI should be used without a therapist's guidance.

🚨 Tesla’s Near Miss
Tesla's Full Self-Driving Mode Almost Drives Car Into Moving Train—Twice!
Imagine cruising down a foggy road in your shiny Tesla, only to find it aiming straight for a moving train. That's exactly what happened to Craig Doty II. He shared dash cam footage of his Tesla in Full Self-Driving (FSD) mode, heading straight for a train on May 8, 2024.
Thankfully, Craig grabbed the wheel just in time, swerving away from what could have been a disaster. And get this: it wasn't the first time his car tried to play chicken with a train.
Craig, who's had his Tesla for less than a year, reported that his car has tried this crazy stunt twice in the last six months. Both times, he was quick on the draw and took control before things went south. He posted the videos online to show just how dangerous this can be.
The car didn't slow down at all, even though the crossing gate was down and the alarm lights were flashing like a disco party. It makes you wonder if FSD really stands for "Full Self-Driving" or "Foolishly Seeking Disaster."
This isn't just a "whoopsie" moment for Tesla. It's a serious issue that highlights the limits of their Autopilot and FSD features. Federal investigators have found these features contributed to hundreds of accidents, leading to updated driver assist software. Yet, questions remain about whether these updates are enough.
A Tesla owner, Craig Doty II, recently shared a video of his vehicle failing to stop for a passing train while in Full Self-Driving (FSD) mode. The footage shows the vehicle approaching the train without slowing down, prompting Doty to take control and swerve through the railway… x.com/i/web/status/1…
