🚨 BEAST AI

An adversarial prompt injection attack tool named BEAST AI, developed by computer scientists, has been found to be capable of making large language models generate harmful responses. This tool, which uses open-source code and an Nvidia RTX A6000 GPU with 48GB of memory, has proven to be faster than gradient-based attacks, providing a speedup of 65 times.

The models that come under attack include Vicuna-7B, Mistral-7B, and commercial models like OpenAI's GPT-4. The tool is effective in generating adversarial prompts, with an 89% success rate observed in just one minute.

The tool can also be used to design prompts that lead models astray, enabling social engineering attacks. It's also capable of crafting prompts for inaccurate responses and conducting membership inference attacks.

⚠️ Antagonistic AI

Researchers are now exploring the concept of antagonistic AI, a departure from the current trend of making AI models agreeable and safe. They believe that introducing adversarial and argumentative features can challenge prevailing values, foster diversity in viewpoints, and stimulate personal and collective growth.

This is done with a focus on building resilience, promoting self-reflection, and offering fresh interactions. It's important to note that the development of antagonistic AI still adheres to responsible and ethical AI principles, with emphasis on user consent, context, and framing during interactions.
