🤖 Anthropic’s Most Intelligent AI
Anthropic has unveiled its latest AI model, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, which promises to be a game-changer in the AI industry.
Advanced AI Model: Anthropic's new AI model, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, is twice as fast as its predecessor and outperforms competitors like OpenAI in key areas such as coding and text-based reasoning. This model is available for free on both mobile and desktop platforms, up to a certain limit.
Industry Competition: Anthropic is positioning itself against major AI developers like OpenAI, Google, and Microsoft, focusing primarily on business customers and emphasizing safe and responsible AI development. OpenAI has also released a new model, GPT 4o, which is more capable, faster, and cheaper.
Business Impact: Claude 3.5 Sonnet can support high-level tasks like drug discovery research and generate coding and documents. Anthropic, founded in 2021 by former OpenAI employees, aims to be the preferred AI model for enterprise businesses, with partnerships like Pfizer using the chatbot for research and drug development.
This release marks a significant milestone for Anthropic and the AI industry.

🚨 US Army Humanoids
Army Colonel Predicts Robot Soldiers by 2030—But With Some Serious Warnings
The US Army is looking to have humanoid robots and augmented humans ready for battle by 2030, but not without some big "wait a minute" moments.
Colonel Troy Denomy spilled the beans at the South by Southwest conference in Austin, Texas, letting everyone in on the latest military tech tests. For instance, the Marines have been strapping M72 rocket launchers to robot dogs—yep, you read that right, rocket-launching robot dogs.
He said they're eyeing the 2030–2040 timeframe for these high-tech AI soldiers, but there are some hiccups. Like, the robots might end up bossing the humans around, and nobody wants to take orders from a machine, right?
Denomy shared a funny but kinda concerning story about a recent test. Imagine soldiers trying to control 27 robots with 27 remotes hanging around their necks! Yep, it was chaotic.
The colonel and his buddies agreed that menial tasks like this need to be automated before they can really bring robots into the battlefield. Otherwise, it's like the humans are working for the robots, not the other way around.
The panel also discussed the Department of Defense's new policy, which insists humans must always be involved when using AI and robotics. Denomy emphasized that machines understanding ethics is far from reality. So, while it's cool to think about robot soldiers, there's a lot of work to do to make sure they don't go all "Terminator" on us.
