⚖️ Elon After OpenAI

Elon Musk has initiated a legal action against OpenAI, along with its leaders, Sam Altman and Greg Brockman. Musk, who donated over $44 million to OpenAI between 2016 and 2020, alleges that the organization breached its original contractual agreements when it shifted to a for-profit model after partnering with Microsoft.

The lawsuit is centered around compelling OpenAI to adhere to its original nonprofit mission, with Musk seeking injunctions and potentially the restitution of his donations. The case also raises questions about the licensing of GPT-4, an advanced AI model that Musk claims is Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), and accuses of being improperly licensed by OpenAI and Microsoft.

🚨 AI Broke Copyright Law

Chinese courts recently ruled on a legal case involving artificial intelligence (AI) infringing on copyrighted material, highlighting the complexities of AI copyright laws. The case revolved around the popular character, Ultraman, with the Guangzhou Internet Court awarding $1,400 in damages to the plaintiff.

A Beijing court has also recognized AI-generated content as copyrightable, indicating a lack of clarity in Chinese intellectual property (IP) law regarding AI advancements. More details…
