🤯 Insight: Double Exponential Growth In AI

This describes a rapid and unpredictable growth curve that happens when an AI system learns and improves. Double Exponential Growth can happen very quickly, and it's difficult for humans to predict.

For example, ChatGPT saw this type of growth with its adoption - the number of users increased rapidly. This kind of growth can quickly disrupt traditional businesses, especially those that depend on text and images. ChatGPT has reported having 100 million users in April, and if 10% of them subscribe to the $20 per month plan, the gross revenue for a year would be $10 million, assuming the growth is steady, which it isn't because of the double exponential growth curve.
